Life After the Narcissist Support Group

Rediscover your voice. Rebuild self-trust. Reclaim your sense of self.

The Life After the Narcissist Virtual Support Group at The Center for Growth is a safe, empowering space for women healing from narcissistic abuse. Led by Alex Caroline Robboy, MSW, CAS, LCSW, founder of The Center for Growth, this group supports survivors in reconnecting with their inner voice, rebuilding self-esteem, and reclaiming emotional safety after the confusion and pain of narcissistic relationships.

What the Group Offers

Narcissistic relationships can leave survivors questioning their perceptions and self-worth. Recovery begins when you start to trust yourself again. In this group, you’ll be reminded that your thoughts and feelings matter—whether or not the narcissist in your life could validate them.

Through guided discussions, peer connection, and trauma-informed facilitation, participants learn to:

Reconnect with their inner truth
Release self-blame and shame
Build emotional boundaries
Feel less alone in their healing journey

Understanding Narcissistic Abuse

While the group does not diagnose narcissism, members learn about narcissistic traits and relational dynamics, including manipulation, blame-shifting, gaslighting, and emotional invalidation. Recognizing these behaviors helps survivors see patterns clearly and begin to release misplaced guilt and confusion.

Over time, participants rediscover their emotional compass and rebuild trust in their perceptions and instincts.

What Happens in Group Sessions

Each session begins with grounding and reflection. Alex offers a theme or guiding question, and members are invited to share experiences, insights, and support.

This is not a rigid curriculum—it’s a living, compassionate process designed to meet you where you are. Together, we practice:

Empathic listening
Curious reflection
Boundary awareness
Emotional validation and safety

Healing unfolds naturally when women feel heard, believed, and understood.

Core Healing Themes

Releasing Self-Blame

Rebuilding Self-Trust

Survivors often internalize the narcissist’s blame. In this group, we remind you that you did not cause the abuse, nor could you have prevented it. The work is to stop apologizing for your pain.

Years of invalidation can distort self-confidence. Group members practice trusting their emotions and perceptions again—an essential step toward reconnecting with one’s intuition.

Restoring Boundaries

Healthy boundaries protect your peace. Together we explore what feels safe, what feels like “too much,” and how to communicate those limits without guilt or fear.

Finding Inner Closure

Closure rarely comes from a narcissist. Healing involves learning to find resolution within yourself, supported by people who see and honor your truth.

Individual and Group Therapy: A Powerful Combination

Many participants pair this group with individual therapy to deepen their work.
The Center for Growth offers specialized therapy for narcissistic abuse recovery in Philadelphia, PA; Ocean City, NJ; Mechanicsville, VA; Santa Fe, NM; and Georgia.

In individual sessions, you can process your experiences privately and integrate new coping skills, while group sessions offer the connection and validation that reinforce growth. The combination creates a foundation for lasting change.

Who This Group Is Not For

This group is not appropriate for:

Individuals currently in an active abusive relationship
Those in crisis or unsafe living situations

If you’re still in the acute phase of trauma, The Center for Growth offers individual therapy to help stabilize before joining a support group.
