Spontaneous Pneumothorax AKA Bleb Disease
A spontaneous pneumothorax or bleb disease is a condition in which weak spots known as blebs develop on the lungs. If and when these blebs rupture they can cause the lung to collapse. This condition is suspected to be genetic because there appears to be a familial link, although the gene or genes causing this condition have yet to been found. Depending on the severity of the condition, people with bleb disease may live with chronic pain. They may also have to make anywhere from very minor to very major changes to their daily life. These tips are for anyone with bleb disease or anyone who has a partner, friend or family member with bleb disease who wants to learn more.
